Samuel Kimani is the Finance, Operations & Risk Director and has more than 13 years of experience.
He has a vast experience in Strategy and Business planning, Financial Modelling, Reporting, Accounting Operations, Tax, Financial planning and analysis (FPA), Budgeting, Business development, and commercial finance in Sub-Saharan Africa, with stints in the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi, a Masters of Science degree in Finance from Kenyatta University and an ongoing Doctorate degree in Strategic Management from the United States International University. Samuel is also a certified public accountant CPA (K) with a fellowship at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK); and holds a Certificate in Computer & Software Application.
Samuel is credited with leading ideation and eventual development of MedSource’s working capital solution – MedSource Inventory Finance, transforming MedSource into a Med-Fin-Tech and helping MedSource to accelerate achievement of its health access vision through financial inclusion in the Kenya Pharma sector. He is passionate about change management, lean processes and is always biased for action to deliver more with less.
Prior to MedSource Group, Samuel worked at General Electric Company (GE Africa) and the national career Kenya Airways (KQ) in various capacities in the finance, strategy and operations. He has also worked as a Board Member at the Mhasibu Sacco.
